From Field to Global Plate: FoodTraze Meets Salem’s Innovative Farmer

  • Farm Events

Uploaded on September 20, 2025

FoodTraze CEO Suresh Sekar met Salem’s award-winning farmer to explore how blockchain traceability empowers farmers, adds premium value to crops, and shares authentic stories globally.

The FoodTraze team, led by our CEO Suresh Sekar, had the honor of visiting Salem and spending time with S. Jayaraman, age 62, a farmer whose decade-long work has quietly revolutionized agriculture in the region.

Standing amidst organic fields and tech-enabled farms, we saw firsthand how innovation rooted in community can reshape the future of food. Jayaraman has:

  • Unified more than 5,000 farmers into collective clubs.
  • Developed exclusive apps to deliver farming tips and guidance.
  • Blended hi-tech tools with organic practices to produce premium crops.

He was recently recognized with the Best Innovative Farmer Award, and is leading efforts to export organic vegetables globally.

During this visit, Suresh Sekar engaged in an in-depth discussion with Jayaraman on how FoodTraze’s blockchain-based traceability can deepen the value proposition of fast-cycle crops like baby corn (just 50 days from sowing to harvest), ensuring that every harvest carries:

  • Transparency in its journey.
  • Recognition of the farmer behind the crop.
  • Premium value for quality and authenticity.

his meeting reaffirmed something we deeply believe: the future of agriculture isn’t in laboratories or boardrooms — but in our villages, in the hands of farmers who innovate, care, and lead. At FoodTraze, under the leadership of Suresh Sekar, we remain committed to building the channels for these stories to reach the world.
